Painted Desert is a guard-gated, golf-course master-planned community in northwest Las Vegas (ZIP 89149), just west of U.S. 95 and south of Ann Road, near the Tenaya Way and Ann Road corner. Development began around 1987 to 1988 around the Jay Morrish-designed Painted Desert Golf Club and grew in phases through the early 2000s.

The community totals roughly 1,500 to 1,600 residences across about 460 acres and around 10 neighborhoods, mixing single-family estates, duplex-style villas and condominiums built by a number of production and custom builders.

It is one of the earliest guard-gated desert-style country-club communities in the northwest, with 24/7 manned gates, six lighting tennis courts and the semi-18-hole desert-links course at its center.
