Los Prados,
a chapter,
not a house
Los Prados is a guard-gated golf community in northwest Las Vegas where four of the 21 villages are age-restricted 55+ neighborhoods and the rest are all-ages, all wrapped around an 18-hole executive course and its own clubhouse. It suits active-adult buyers who want the 55+ lifestyle with a broader community mix around them. This guide covers where it sits, how to get around, what is inside the gates, what is nearby, and what living here actually feels like. I live in a 55+ community myself, and I have helped buyers and sellers here for years.

A golf community where 55+ villages sit beside all ages
Start with a map. Put your finger on the northwest side of Las Vegas, off Lone Mountain Road near the Centennial Hills corridor, and you have found Los Prados. The 18-hole course winds through the middle of the property, and the community's roughly 1,358 homes spread across 21 named villages, four of which, including Barrington Bay, Castle Bay Shores, Cedar Point and Colwood Place, are age-restricted 55+ neighborhoods.
Development ran from about 1986 into the late 1990s, with most homes built in the early 1990s, so the community is mature, gated and settled. The mix is the honest appeal: some villages are 55+, others are family neighborhoods, which suits buyers who want the active-adult lifestyle without an all-55+ population around them.
I know this community the way you want your agent to know it. I have walked its fairways, eaten at the club and helped buyers and sellers here for years, and I live in a 55+ community myself. If you are comparing northwest Las Vegas, this is an important stop.

Lone Mountain Road and U.S. 95 do the work
The community's main gate sits on West Lone Mountain Road, which runs across the northwest valley and connects to U.S. 95 in a few minutes. U.S. 95 is the corridor's main freeway, linking south to the Strip and downtown and connecting to the 215 Beltway west of the community.
Because Los Prados sits in the Centennial Hills area, day-to-day errands, shopping and services stay close: the Centennial Centre retail hub is about ten minutes away, and Sun City Summerlin is a short drive to the west.

An executive course, the RClub and pools
The short version is easy to remember: an 18-hole executive golf course, the roughly 35,000-square-foot RClub clubhouse, two outdoor pools and a full racket sport lineup. The longer version is that the golf course and clubhouse are the social spine of the whole community.

None of this is a brochure. It is what residents actually use, and it is a big part of why the community works. When I show Los Prados, we spend as much time on the amenity calendar as on the floor plan, because that is where the value of the lifestyle lives.
A clubhouse restaurant and a 19th hole lounge
Los Prados has its own dining at the clubhouse: the Restaurant at Los Prados and the 19th Hole Restaurant & Lounge serve residents and guests, and the lounge is the classic after-round gathering spot.
For more variety, the Centennial corridor's restaurants are about ten minutes away, and longtime northwest favorites like Bob Taylor's Ranch House sit nearby.

Medical care sits on the Centennial corridor
Centennial Hills Hospital is the nearest option
Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center is the nearest full-service hospital to Los Prados, with emergency care and comprehensive services on the Centennial corridor. Urgent care and medical offices also line Lone Mountain and the corridor for everyday needs.
Summerlin Hospital Medical Center is a west-side alternative for specialist care, and the medical network around the northwest is well developed for a community of this age.
Why this matters in a 55+ decision: a full-service hospital within a short drive, with urgent care closer still, takes a real worry off the table as you plan the next chapter.
Centennial Centre is the retail anchor
Centennial Centre, a roughly 900,000-square-foot shopping plaza at the U.S. 95 and 215 junction, is the retail anchor for the northwest, with more than a hundred stores and services. Big-box and grocery options line the Centennial Hills corridor from there.
For everyday errands, grocery stores and pharmacies sit along Lone Mountain Road closer to home, so the community balances daily convenience with a full shopping district a short drive away.

Useful context for visiting family and staff
Los Prados is only partly 55+, so some families do live here, and the school question matters for them as well as for visiting grandchildren. The Centennial Hills corridor is served by the Clark County School District, with assignments by exact address.
Well-regarded public charters in the corridor include Coral Academy of Science Centennial Hills and Somerset Academy Sky Pointe, alongside district campuses such as Centennial and Arbor View high schools.

Life happens outside the front door
You are not buying a house. You are choosing how to live.
Everything on this page is background. The lifestyle is the point. Los Prados is built around golf, the club, pools and neighbors, with the 55+ villages choosing an active-adult rhythm inside a broader community, and that mix is a lifestyle decision as much as a real estate decision.
This is the message I bring to every 55+ conversation: it is not just about the house, it is about the lifestyle. The right next home is the one that serves the life you actually want to live. That is what "a chapter, not a house" means, and it is how I match people to communities.

A genuine mix

Pools and courts

I live in a 55+ community myself, so I know what the Friday night dinners sound like, what the pickleball calendar looks like and why new residents make friends faster than they expected. That is the honest version of this lifestyle, and it is the version I share with every client.
"It's not just about the house, it's about the lifestyle."
